How to Get these Free Printable Christmas Gift Card Holders
How to Make these Free Printable Christmas Gift Card Holders
First I’m showing you how to make these free printable Christmas gift card holders without a cutting machine. All you’ll need is the supplies I listed above.
Step 1) Print out the Christmas gift card holder templates
This is what they’ll look like printed out. You can print out the file as many times as you want. Here are some printing tips.
First print to actual size and print at the highest print quality. These Free Christmas gift card holders might print darker then they appear on screen.
Most importantly use cardstock to print them on. Regular copy paper will not do. It’s not strong enough. You can use any weight cardstock. But for me I used light weight cardstock.
Step 2) Cut out the Printable Christmas Gift Card Holders
You can use just regular scissors for this part. First I cut the paper in half to separate the different card holders. After that I started cutting along the outside border of the gift card holder.
Step 3) Fold along the lines
This is what the Free printable Christmas gift card holders look like when cut out. I added the arrows so you’ll see where to fold. You’ll fold the green and red tabs. Fold along the line next to the Merry Christmas sentiment.
The tabs is where the glue will be placed.
Now what you can do to help you fold the lines is use a scoring tool. What you would do is trace along the folding lines with the scoring tool. I used my scoring stylus that goes with my Cricut machine.
This is what the Christmas gift card holder template should look like in this step.
Step 4) Add your adhesive and fold
Use whatever adhesive you want for this step. You can use:
- Liquid glue
- double sided tape
- Stick glue
- Glue dots
Whatever glue you decided to use make sure its strong enough to hold everything in place. You don’t want the gift card holder coming apart.
For this step put your glue on the tabs. I put the glue on top of the taps. Meaning I put the glue on the red side and green side of the tabs.
Then you’re gonna fold the backside of the gift card holder onto the tabs.
You could put the glue on the opposite sides of the tabs. Meaning you could put it on the white side of the tabs. But you would have to put the tabs on top of the backside of the Christmas gift card sleeve.
Step 5) Now you’re done!
This is what the free printable Christmas gift card holders should look like when done.
How to Use Your Cricut Machine to cut out the gift card holders
I’ve included png files to use with your Cricut or cutting machine. You’ll have to use the print then cut feature. Now if you want to make the folding easier add score lines.
You’ll add the score lines where the tabs are and the line that’s next to the Merry Christmas sentiment. Use the image above as reference. So the top of the green tab and the top of the red tab is where they’ll go.
Then when you’re done click attach.
Then hit make. Send the file to your printer. I usually use my printer dialog box. You can bleed lines if you want. It’s optional. Then add the sheet to your Cricut mat.
Select the type of cardstock you’re using for materials. Don’t forget to add your scoring stylus or scoring wheel. Then when ready hit the flashing buttons on your Cricut machine.
Once its cut follow step four to finish it.
